    We actually get far more use out of the filtration system than we planned. The initial filter that came with it was recently changed and it appears to have stopped us from drinking some really atrocious stuff. Metal flakes and bugs included.

    Would be 4 stars because of price, but for the convenience of on-tap use, ease of replacement and the fact that it seems to actually stop the nasties it deserves 5.

    I shoe-horned one into the filter housing for our fridge’s water dispenser as well. Can’t say the water tastes any different, but it works well enough.

    I’ve been using these for months now. The only problem is that with frequent water cuts, the surge on water returning brings lots of rubbish with it. The filter picks it up, but I have to change filters much more often. Not a product problem, a water quality problem. Also, remember to clean the little filter on the outgoing bypass in the unit. I thought I’d have to buy a new unit, until I realized there’s another little filter that needs to be cleaned.

    I’ve been using these refills for quite a while, and I believe they work well. I do not know if there’s actually a big difference or what the pros and cons are of using filters, but I haven’t experienced any negative effects with the products. one filter lasts me and my husband about 2 months before it gets dirty. Doesn’t taste strange or anything.
